Washington State Begins Transition To Stand-Alone Department Of Children, Youth & Families By July 2018
On July 6, 2017, Washington State began a year-long transition to create an independent Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF), to start operations by July 2018. The new DCYF will oversee child welfare, juvenile justice, child care, early childhood education programs.
