Washington State To Move Medicaid Addiction Treatment To Managed Care & Carve-In Mental Health Services
The Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) is preparing to integrate Medicaid mental health and addiction treatment services into its physical health managed care plans by 2020. As a first step, on August 6, 2015, HCA released a request for proposals (RFP 15-008) seeking responses from its current Apple Health Medicaid managed care organization (MCO) contractors to provide fully integrated physical and behavioral health managed care (FIMC) plans in southwestern Washington.
