West Virginia Implements New Individual Budgets & Service Authorizations For I/DD
West Virginia is implementing a new individual budget methodology and service authorization process for its Medicaid intellectual/developmental disability (I/DD) waiver. The new methodology features four tiers with base amounts that can be augmented to account for greater service needs due to motor skills deficits, personal living issues, and problem behaviors. The new budgets will go into effect for July 1, 2018. The new authorization process has already started.
