When cost sharing increased due to insurance deductible resets at the start if 2021, the percentage of;naloxone;prescriptions abandoned at U.S. pharmacies increased (also known as "prescription abandonment"). The average cost sharing per naloxone claim increased by $15.00 for those with commercial insurance and $12.30 for Medicare consumers on January 1, 2021. The probability of abandonment in the new year increased for both groups after January 1, 2021: by 4.7 percentage points for those with commercial insurance and 2.8 percentage points for those with Medicare.
