Wisconsin Expands Program Statewide Linking SNAP Food Assistance Eligibility To Participation In Work
In April 2015, the Wisconsin Department of Human Services (DHS) implemented a statewide expansion of a new work requirement for eligibility for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits through the state's FoodShare program. DHS now requires able-bodied adults between the ages of 18 and 49 who do not have dependent children living in the state of Wisconsin to work at least 80 hours per month to qualify for FoodShare benefits.
