Wisconsin Medicaid Withdraws From Dual Eligible Demonstration & Its All-Age PACE Program

On December 19, 2013, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announced its withdrawal from the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS’) Demonstration to Integrate Care for Dual Eligible Individuals because the state was unable to agree with CMS on the terms. DHS had been developing a project called Virtual Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). Although similar in concept to the current PACE program, which is limited to disabled dual eligible adults age 55 and older, for the Virtual PACE duals demonstration, Wisconsin planned no age limits, and would allow enrollees to continue receiving . . .
