Wisconsin Receives Federal Approval To Use CHIP Funds For Housing Support

On October 27, 2022, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) announced federal approval of a Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Health Services Initiative to provide housing support for low-income families with children ages 18 and younger and pregnant individuals. Services will include housing consultations, transition supports, relocation supports, and other support to help families sustain housing after moving.

Those eligible will be able to access the following supportive housing services:

Housing consultations that will prepare families by developing a housing support plan
Transition supports that help families prepare for and make the move to new housing
Relocation . . .
