Wisconsin To Launch Housing Support Services Initiative For Medicaid Beneficiaries With Behavioral Health Or Substance Use Conditions Who Have Housing Insecurity
On February 1, 2025, the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) will launch a new Medicaid initiative to provide housing support services to adult Medicaid beneficiaries experiencing housing insecurity who are also affected by mental health and substance use issues. The services will include assistance and resources to find housing, and coverage of initial setup expenses such as security deposits. It will not cover rent or ongoing housing expenses. The state anticipates that around 400 members will be served in the first year.
