Workplace & Community Violence Cost Hospitals $18 Billion Annually 

Hospitals and health systems spent about $18.27 billion in 2023 to pay for goods and services to prevent and respond to workplace and community violence, according to a recent report. The costs included health care treatment for victims, security staffing for health care facilities, and violence prevention programs and training.
