Final Rule: Nondiscrimination On The Basis of Disability; Accessibility Of Web Information & Services Of State & Local Government Entities
The rule was finalized in April 2024 by the federal Department of Justice. (DOJ). The provisions are focused on public entity compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) so that people with disabilities are able to fully participate in civic life and benefit from public services. Websites and digital applications used by public entities must be designed to facilitate full accessibility by people with mobility issues, low vision, and cognitive and learning disabilities.
