On May 8, 2012, Kitsap Mental Health Services (KMHS)of Kitsap County, Washington was awarded a $1.8 million grant by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for a three year integrated care project. The project was among 26 nationwide selected by CMS for a Health Care Innovation Award. The Health Care Innovation program was a provision of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (PPACA). The awards are intended to support innovative projects to deliver high quality medical care for people enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid, and the ChildrenÂ’s Health Insurance . . .
