COVID-19 & The Definition Of ‘Disabiity Under The ADA/Rehabilitation Act
On July 26, 2021, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) published this guidance on coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the definition of 'disability' under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. It describes various long-term impairments that may occur after infection with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). These include “long COVID,” “post-COVID,” “long-haul COVID,” “post-acute coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19),” “long-term effects of COVID,” or “chronic COVID” in which individuals experience new, returning, or ongoing health problems four or more weeks . . .
