The report was released on September 1, 2020, by the California Office of the Inspector General. The report presents the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) progress toward addressing policies, practices, and procedures for the screening, housing, searching and treatment of incarcerated transgender, intersex, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people. This includes allowing access to clothing and personal care items consistent with their gender identity and setting clear expectations that staff address them consistent with their gender identity, to include the use of correct pronouns and honorifics.
