On September 20, 2021, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology published this report about individuals' access and use of patient portals and smartphone health apps during 2020. This brief analyzes data from the Health Information National Trends Survey (HINTS), a nationally representative survey of U.S. adults which was fielded from January 2020 through April 2020.
