Texas Medicaid Child Obesity Prevention Pilot
November 1, 2010 On November 1, 2010, the Texas Medicaid plan launched a two-year child obesity prevention pilot program. The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) contracted with Amerigroup, one of its Medicaid managed care organizations to operate the pilot. The legislature appropriated $1.5 million; the pilot will take place in Travis County.
