Attendees Of OPEN MINDS I/DD Executive Summit Will Be First To Hear From Dr. David Braddock On “The State of the States in Developmental Disabilities: 2017”

Gettysburg, Pa. (August 6, 2017) — Attendees at the upcoming OPEN MINDS I/DD Executive Summit – powered by VERTESS and CapGrow Partners – will have the opportunity to be the first in the country to hear from David Braddock, Ph.D., on the latest edition of “The State of the States in Developmental Disabilities: 2017.” All registrants will also receive a complimentary copy of the highly-anticipated publication.

Established in 1982 to investigate the determinants of public spending for intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) services in the United States, the Project now maintains a 39-year record of revenue, spending, and programmatic trends in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the United States as a whole. Analysis of the rich detail of the data base reveals the impact over time of federal, state, and local fiscal policy. The data illustrate important service delivery trends in the states in community living, public and private residential institutions, family support, supported employment, supported living, Medicaid Waivers, and demographics.

Following the success of the inaugural I/DD Executive Summit in Florida, Dr. Braddock will deliver the opening plenary address at the full-day event, where he will provide an analysis of emerging data on availability, cost, reimbursement models and other critical factors for effective service delivery. David Braddock, PhD, is Senior Associate Vice President of the University of Colorado (CU) System and Executive Director of the Coleman Institute for Cognitive Disabilities. He holds the endowed Coleman-Turner Chair in Cognitive Disability and is a professor in the School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry at CU’s Anschutz Medical Campus.

The OPEN MINDS I/DD Executive Summit was created for thought leaders and executives  to come together and discuss best practices for enhancing the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. In addition to Dr. Braddock’s keynote address, faculty for this I/DD Executive Summit will include members of the OPEN MINDS senior team and experts in the I/DD field, including:
