NEW ORLEANS (June 12, 2022) — Join OPEN MINDS and Otsuka at the Strategy & Innovation Institute on June 16, 2022, at 10:10 am CT for a conversation about the impacts and the future of health care.

The 2022 OPEN MINDS Strategy & Innovation Institute is the one executive event focused on growth–developing growth strategies and nurturing the innovations that fuel growth of health and human services. The institute brings together the thought leaders from organizations serving consumers with chronic conditions and complex support needs to share their approaches to building service lines and service systems.

As part of their Trends in Behavioral Health Series, in 2021, Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. (OAPI) released The Third Edition Of Trends In Behavioral Health: A Reference Guide On The US Behavioral Health Financing & Delivery System (The Guide). This version focused on the OPEN MINDS survey results that came from interviews of 1,132 health plans. Top payer executives provided information on COVID-19, their current and future reimbursement strategies, digital technology strategies, consumer engagement, care coordination, and much more.

The accelerated rate of change remains fast paced. Of note, digital therapeutics and whole-person care continue to demonstrate the importance of tracking these important trends. Staffing shortages affected many organizations in a more pronounced way than anticipated. New avenues of competition from retail health and health plans themselves as “payviders” were also identified.

As OPEN MINDS and Otsuka prepare The Fourth Edition of The Guide, a 2022 Supplement will be released. The 2022 Supplement looks at the payer interviews in 2021 and holds them to the state of health care in 2022. The 2022 Supplement also identifies new trends not previously anticipated. In the session, the speakers will review how the health space has changed since 2021. They will then give predictions on the future which is also covered in The Supplement. Audience participation is welcome. As a gift, a free copy of The Supplement will be delivered to anyone in attendance.
