Best Practices In Marketing, Negotiating & Contracting With Health Plans Seminar Announced For The 2021 OPEN MINDS Strategy & Innovation Institute
GETTYSBURG, Pa. (April 18, 2021) – OPEN MINDS’ executive seminar, How To Build Value-Based Payer Partnerships: Best Practices In Marketing, Negotiating & Contracting With Health Plans, sponsored by Netsmart, will take place Monday, June 14, 2021, at The 2021 OPEN MINDS Strategy & Innovation Institute. The seminar will focus on managed care organizations that are successfully delivering treatment services to large populations and doing it in a way that saves states significant money. These demonstrated savings show that value-based reimbursement and managed care arrangements are mainstays, which means executives of provider organizations must find a way to position themselves to work closely with managed care companies. OPEN MINDS’ Senior Associates, Richard Louis III and Cathy Gilbert, will virtually present this seminar from 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Mr. Louis and Ms. Gilbert will address the question, “How will executives of provider organizations position themselves to work more closely with managed care companies?” Executives can start by developing relationships with in-market payers, consider the metrics these payers utilize, and determine how they can help them meet their performance requirements. Additionally, Mr. Louis and Ms. Gilbert will also discuss how provider organization executives can align programs and services with the goals of the payers and health plans in their market and provide data that proves organizational service lines can achieve both high quality outcomes and lower costs.
During this session, Mr. Louis and Ms. Gilbert will cover how to start strategic conversations with health plans, demonstrate an organization’s value in ways that will capture health plan’s interest, and secure and optimize service agreements with health plans.
Mr. Louis has extensive experience as a behavioral health administrator, business development specialist and innovator of new service lines. He also experienced in behavioral health program management, clinical operations, strategic alliances and outcome-based service delivery models for complex adult and youth populations. Ms. Gilbert is a health care executive with over 20 years of experience in the health care industry including non-profit, government, and private insurance, with ten years of progressively higher-level experience with provider networks in the behavioral health arena.
