Innovative Plenary Speakers Set To Discuss How Technology Has Impacted The Health Care Landscape At The 2015 OPEN MINDS Technology & Informatics Institute

Thought leaders gather in Washington, DC for a two-day institute focused on the emerging technologies changing the management, financing, and delivery of care for consumers with complex needs

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (September 8, 2015) — The 2015 OPEN MINDS Technology & Informatics Institute provides attendees with the opportunity to explore both the shift in service delivery and in organizational management and operations that come with the adoption of new technologies. This highly-anticipated, two-day event is expected to draw more than five hundred executives on October 27-28, 2015 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC. OPEN MINDS has assembled a team of expert faculty members to lead the institute agenda, including four innovative industry leaders that will deliver plenary addresses at the event.

Paul Grundy, MD, MPH, FACOEM, FACPM will deliver the opening keynote address, “The Evolution Of Patient-Centered Care & The Future Of Integration In Health Care.” Dr. Grundy is the founding President of the Patient-Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC) and IBM’s Director of IBM Global Healthcare Transformation. In his role at IBM, Dr. Grundy develops and executes strategies that support IBM’s health care industry transformation initiatives. He is regarded as the “godfather” of the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) concept because of his advocacy for PCMH-level care and in creation of the Patient Centered Primary Care Collaborative (PCPCC).

David K. Kelley, M.D., M.P.A. will close the first day of the institute with his plenary address, “Medicaid Innovation In An Era Of Health Care Reform.” Dr. Kelley is the Chief Medical Officer for the Office of Medical Assistance Programs at Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare. In this role, Dr. Kelley oversees the clinical and quality aspects of the Medical Assistance Program that provides health benefits to over 2.2 million recipients.

The second day of the institute will open with a plenary address by David C. Mohr, Ph.D., “Behavioral Intervention Technologies: How Web, Mobile & Sensor Technologies Will Change The Future Of Health Care.” Dr. Mohr is the Director of the Center for Behavioral Intervention Technologies (CBITs) & Professor of Preventive Medicine at Northwestern University. The Center for Behavioral Intervention Technologies (CBITs) is a research center (within the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine) focused on developing and evaluating behavioral intervention technologies (BITs), including web, mobile and sensor technologies that help people make positive behavior changes to support health, mental health, and wellness. Dr. Mohr’s work has been at the intersection of behavioral science, technology, and clinical intervention research, and has focused on developing, optimizing, and evaluating interventions that harness web-based and wireless technologies to promote health and mental health

Monica E. Oss, will close the event with her plenary session “How To Make Technology Work For You: The Four Pillars Of Strategic Tech Success.” Ms. Oss is the Chief Executive Officer of OPEN MINDS and a renowned industry thought leader. As the founder of OPEN MINDS, Ms. Oss has led the OPEN MINDS team and its research on health and human service market trends and its national consulting practice for more than 25 years.
