Joyce Wale Of United Healthcare To Headline The February 17, 2022 OPEN MINDS Health Plan Partnership Summit

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (November 7, 2021) — OPEN MINDS has announced that Joyce Wale, Northeast Regional Behavioral Executive Director, United Healthcare Community and State will keynote The 2022 OPEN MINDS Health Plan Partnership Summit, taking place in beautiful Clearwater Beach, Florida on Thursday February 17, 2022. The 2022 Health Plan Partnership Summit will provide innovative ideas and best practices that payers and providers serving those in the health and human services field need to build efficient service models and business processes, while delivering person-directed care. This “must-attend” all day event lays out a clear picture for the future of health plan partnerships with provider organizations.

Health plan priorities are being reshaped to meet new challenges of the changing health and human services landscape, and they’ve got “big data” behind their every move. For provider organization executives, understanding the dynamics of the health plans in their market is the key to creating preferred health plan relationships. During this one day event, we will hear from executives from health plans and provider organizations alike on specific case studies with regard to partnership opportunities. You will see how the right management tools, strategic insights, and the expert advice can help you navigate strategic health plan/provider partnerships in order to better serve consumers with complex support needs. The case study presentations, led by health plan and provider executives, will examine how their organizations are innovating in the shift to value-based care, how ‘In Lieu of services’ are taking off for managed Medicaid, how social determinants of health are helping shape partnerships, and how becoming centers of excellence in the substance use disorder world are informing partnerships with payers.

“5 of the largest health plans have 50% of the consumers, and for provider organizations securing new partnership opportunities with payers is essential,” Said OPEN MINDS chief executive officer Monica E. Oss. “This summit, which is exclusively designed for provider organization executives, will provide the market intelligence and knowledge base to help build provider/payer partnerships so that you can serve consumers with multiple chronic conditions and complex support needs.”

Joyce Wale’s keynote address will kick off the day. Join us as she shares her thoughts around strategic alignment that can help drive provider organization and payer partnerships for improved performance outcomes. Ms. Wale’s keynote presentation will include details and real life of examples of what has worked and what hasn’t, from a payer’s perspective. The session will highlight how strategic vision can drive internal culture, and how that relates to partnerships. Ms. Wale serves as the Northeast Regional Behavioral Executive Director of UnitedHealthcare Community and State plan. She has dedicated her career to social services and teaching in the behavioral health space.

This year’s summit will take place at the close of The 2022 OPEN MINDS Performance Management Institute. The institute takes place at the Sheraton Sand Key Resort and will provide a deep dive into improving performance and customer value in the “next normal”  ̶  what the experts recommend, what leading organizations are doing, and what payers want.
