(August 15, 2021) – OPEN MINDS is currently accepting registrations to The 2021 OPEN MINDS Management Best Practices Institute, which will run in-person from August 23-26, 2021 at the Newport Beach Marriott in Newport Beach, CA. The institute is the only national event focused on the management best practices and “must-have” competencies every executive needs to improve the service system for consumers with complex conditions in the “next normal.”
The OPEN MINDS I/DD Executive Summit: Strategies For The ‘Next Normal’: Responding To I/DD At The Crossroads will kick off the institute on Monday, August 23, along with the executive seminar: How To Optimize Technology: An OPEN MINDS Seminar On Getting The Most Value From Your Technology Investments. Vincent Armstrong, Director, North Carolina Division of Mental Health, Developmental Disabilities, & Substance Abuse Services, will kick off the summit with his keynote presentation, “The I/DD Landscape: Looking Ahead To The ‘Next Normal.’” The summit will wrap up with an executive roundtable session featuring all summit speakers.
Rafael Gonzalez-Amezcua, MD, chief medical officer at Aetna Better Health of California, will begin the day on Tuesday, August 24 with his keynote presentation, “A Payer’s Perspective On Crucial Integrated Health Components In The ‘Next Normal.’” The second day will wrap up with an executive roundtable session, “The Evidence Based Practices Health Plans Need & How They Are Used.”
Eric C. Hunter, president and chief executive officer at CareOregon, Jeffrey A. Nagel, PhD, behavioral health director at Orange County Health Care Agency, and Michael Brodsky, MD, medical director for behavioral health and social services at L.A. Care Health Plan will start the day on Wednesday, August 25 with their Plenary Panel “Medicaid In The Next Normal: Challenges For Funding & Delivering Care For The Most Complex Consumers.” Chief executive officer of OPEN MINDS, Monica E. Oss, will close the institute with her keynote session, “Best Practices For Success In The ‘Next Normal.’”
Caroline Carney, MD, chief medical officer at Magellan Health, will keynote The OPEN MINDS Health Plan Partnership Summit on Thursday, August 26 with her presentation, “Transformation To A Collaborative Care Model – A Reimagined Partnership Approach.” Once again, the summit will wrap up with an executive roundtable session featuring all summit speakers.
