OPEN MINDS & Alera Health Announce Webinar On Building Sustainable Value-Based Care Performance In Pediatric Populations

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania (September 19, 2026) –OPEN MINDS and Alera Health announced an upcoming webinar, “From Good Intentions To Automatic Action: Value-Based Care Success In Pediatric Populations,” to be held October 22, 2026, focused on the systems, workflows, and accountability structures needed to improve quality performance across clinically integrated provider networks serving pediatric and behavioral health populations.

The webinar will feature Nancy Jo Sutton-McLeod, LCSW, Executive Director of Network Operations at Alera Health, and Trish Smith, MPH, LPN, Executive Director of Network Performance at Alera Health. Sutton-McLeod manages quality and operations for two Arizona-based ONEcare clinically integrated networks, including value-based contracts and strategies to improve HEDIS performance. Smith works with pediatric practices on quality, compliance, workflow redesign, data utilization, and performance improvement.

Together, they will share practical strategies for identifying and closing care gaps, improving HEDIS performance, and creating consistent quality practices across multi-agency networks. Attendees will learn approaches for identifying care gaps before appointments, preparing staff and clinicians to discuss sensitive issues with consumers and families, using data to drive action, and establishing accountability across participating organizations.

The session will also examine how these strategies apply in pediatric and behavioral health settings, including examples from Children First of North Carolina (CFNC). The discussion will address child-focused HEDIS measures and the operational changes needed to make quality improvement sustainable across a network of organizations serving children and families.

“Success with value-based reimbursement depends on an organization’s ability to turn performance expectations into routine operating practices,” said Monica E. Oss, Chief Executive Officer of OPEN MINDS. “That requires the right data, workflows, staff competencies, and accountability. The strategic challenge for executives is building those capabilities so that improving quality is not a separate initiative, but part of how care is delivered every day.”

The webinar comes as Alera Health continues to expand its ONEcare clinically integrated network model. ONEcare networks currently connect more than 100 provider organizations and 25,000 clinicians serving approximately four million health care consumers, including 450,000 individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness. Alera Health is expanding the network model in Indiana and Florida and plans to enter three to four additional states annually.

According to Alera Health, ONEcare network participants reduced inpatient utilization by more than 350,000 bed days and reduced medical expenditures by approximately 10.6% in 2024.

“Value-based care works when providers have the information, infrastructure, and shared accountability to act on opportunities to improve care before they become missed opportunities. Through ONEcare, we have seen what becomes possible when independent organizations align around common measures and use data to drive action across the network. This webinar is an opportunity to share what we have learned about making that approach work in practice.” said Mike Rhoades, Chief Executive Officer of Alera Health.

The webinar will be held October 22, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. ET. Registration information is available at: From Good Intentions To Automatic Action: Value-Based Care Success In Pediatric Populations.
