OPEN MINDS Continues Expansion With The Addition Of Five Industry Executives To Its Growing Advisory Board Team
Gettysburg, Pa. (July 5, 2016) — OPEN MINDS continues to expand its Advisory Board Team with the addition of five new industry executives. These seasoned industry professionals bring in-depth knowledge of varying state systems, as well as a wealth of leadership and management experience to the OPEN MINDS team.
The OPEN MINDS Advisory Board members provide on-the-ground market intelligence in various states, helping to shape the news and information shared in OPEN MINDS publications. The executives serve as subject matter experts and consultants on certain projects, and help outline topics and sessions for the OPEN MINDS Executive Education Institutes. The five newest members of the OPEN MINDS Advisory Board bring a wealth of experience and expertise in the health care field:

Harriet Markell, M.A. is currently serving as the Interim Association Director for the California Council of Community Behavioral Health Agencies. She previously served as Vice President of Business Development for EMQ FamiliesFirst, a statewide nonprofit agency that helps children and families. In this role, Ms. Markell designed and managed processes for defining business development strategies, implemented new services, payers, and populations per strategic planning results, and provided leadership for both short and long term planning within the enterprise and business units. She was also responsible for ensuring the agency’s readiness for healthcare reform. Ms. Markell brings to OPEN MINDS over 25 years of experience in the field of mental and behavioral health. Her areas of expertise include facilitating managed care readiness assessments for provider agencies, strategic planning and implementation, and business development.
Shirley Repta is the Chief Executive Officer at The Pavilion at Williamsburg Place. Prior to this position, she served as Vice President of the Behavioral Health Service Line at University Health in Shreveport, Louisiana where she successfully executed the development and implementation of integrated delivery systems for behavioral health, including strategies used for the integration of behavioral health with Primary Care. The intra-state partnerships she built helped her achieve her goal of addressing the behavioral health needs of underserved and high-risk populations. Ms. Repta brings more than 25 years of health and human service experience to the OPEN MINDS team. She has extensive expertise in transformative leadership and operations, especially in complex and rapidly changing environments.
Douglas Stadter, M.P.A. currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Centers for Youth and Families, Inc., a comprehensive behavioral health program serving children, adolescents and young adults with an annual budget of $20 million and 350 employees. Mr. Stadter has over 35 years of experience in planning, budgeting, implementing and operational behavioral services programs in Arkansas. He has had extensive involvement in the state budgeting process; administration of state and federally funded programs; management of private, not-for-profit organizations; and psychiatric hospital administration.
In his current role as the Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer at Grafton Integrated Health Network, Jamie Stewart is responsible for the supervision of the Finance Departments, Contracting (both payer and vendor), Information Technology, Human Resources, Risk Management, Facilities Department, The Infant and Toddler Program, and the Education Department. Mr. Stewart brings to OPEN MINDS over twenty years of experience in the healthcare field. He has helped develop and modify Healthcare plans and benefits, Retirement Plans and benefits, and PTO Plans for multiple behavioral healthcare providers. He has also played an integral role in program development and business planning for new strategic business lines.
Since 1972, John Van Camp has led Southwest Solutions, an organization dedicated to serving individuals dealing with mental illness and homelessness in the Detroit, Michigan area. Southwest Solutions serves these individuals with complex needs with their two core programs: Southwest Counseling Solutions and Southwest Housing Solutions. Mr. Van Camp has over 40 years of experience in the health and human service field and is recognized nationally for the many innovations he has initiated at Southwest Solutions and in the greater Detroit market.
