OPEN MINDS Media Kit Release Highlighted By New Audience Statistics & Partnership Model
GETTYSBURG, Pa. (August 20, 2017) — OPEN MINDS announced a new model for promotional partnerships during the release of its 2018 media kit and communications guide today.
“We’re proud to launch a completely new model that will allow us to focus all of our promotional real estate, marketing resources and team bench strength on a select group of partner organizations,” said OPEN MINDS Senior Director of Vendor Relations, James Gargiulo. “This approach will allow us to offer maximum value and return to the organizations underwriting our executive events and content services.”
Partnerships, and the new ‘partner packages’, are limited to 20 per year for both the OPEN MINDS executive institute series and The OPEN MINDS Circle. Nearly all OPEN MINDS promotional offerings — including webinars, exhibit spaces, advertising, sponsorships and collaborative content — are now divided among the partner packages and thus exclusive to the partner organizations.
“If we expect to attract the most innovative and influential organizations in health and human services, we can’t be afraid to do things a little different,” Executive Vice President, Tim Snyder, continued. “Our value proposition is simple. Rather than investing in a promotional tactic or advertising placement, make an investment in a partner who will work endlessly to help you succeed.”
Because an organization may purchase more than one OPEN MINDS partnership package per yer, a total of 25-30 organizations are estimated to secure all 40 opportunities for 2018. For reference, in 2017, a similar amount of promotional initiatives and real estate was secured by 74 different organizations via OPEN MINDS’ previous model of individual sponsorship and advertising opportunities.
The updated OPEN MINDS audience and membership statistics released as part of the new media kit supported the value case being made by Gargiulo and Snyder. The updated figures for total active audience came in at 157,000 professionals from 27,000 organizations in the following market segments:

- Disability Supports
- Long-Term Care
- Child & Family Services
- Social Services
- Juvenile Justice
- Adult Corrections Health Care
48% of the audience qualified as an Executive Team Member or Senior Leader at the organization. Even more impressive was the ‘high-investment’ audience statistics. Note: ‘High investment audience’ was defined as the segment of the OPEN MINDS membership with paid, organization-wide subscriptions. As of the release, 653 organizations had the high-investment designation. This influential group with unlimited employee access to OPEN MINDS offerings was responsible for $204B in cumulative spending last year – approximately 27% of the total spend in the complex consumer market.
