This information-packed day will open with April Hamilton, MBA, MHSA, Executive Deputy Director, New York State Department of Health and her keynote address, Integrated Care Models For Children: What Is Working In New York & Beyond, where she will discuss the new models for providing ‘whole person’ care approaches for children with challenges.
Next, the session In Home Services For High-Needs Youth: The Challenges & The Opportunities will look at the new and exciting developments for bringing services directly into children’s and families homes. Rising demand and acuity of behavioral conditions impacting children is driving demand for new crisis models for children. Attendees will learn more about the changing demand and opportunities for designing specialized crisis services in the session Crisis Services For Children & Adolescents: New Models For Emerging Challenges. The session will feature a case study from Ailene Keys, Vice President, Children & Family Services, Access Services, focused on alternative approaches to addressing the rise in pediatric emergency room visits.
The summit will also look at how to address co-occurring medical and behavioral conditions in children in the session, Serving Children With The Most Complex Needs. Innovative models of serving these children will be presented by Todd Harris, Ph.D., Executive Director of Autism Services, Devereux; Pam Reed, Executive Director, Devereux Texas; and Patsy McMelleon, Manager of Outpatient Services, Children’s Institute on cutting-edge programs and supportive services for children with complex medical and mental health needs.
