Preparing For Value-Based Purchasing From A Financial Standpoint – Free New Program From The OPEN MINDS ‘Management Monday’ Series

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (September 4, 2017) — OPEN MINDS has announced a new coffee break case study program, “Preparing For Value-Based Purchasing From A Financial Standpoint,” featuring Senior Associate, Ken Carr. The free webinar will take place as part of OPEN MINDS Management Monday series on Monday, September 11, at 1:00 pm ET.

Mr. Carr brings over 20 years of finance, technology, data analysis and reporting experience in the health and human service field to the OPEN MINDS national consulting practice. As a long-time CFO in the field, his expertise is centralized around financial management of health and human service organizations, health information management, technology implementation, strategic planning, and change management. Carr is also the OPEN MINDS Senior Practice Lead on value-based contracting and a member of its leadership team.

“Managed care and integrated service delivery models are definitely causing a ‘reordering’ of the market value chain for the financing and delivering services for consumers with complex needs. Subsequently, provider organizations have been forced to adapt to new business models that incentivize value of care rather than volume,” said Carr. “There are a number of aspects to making this business model shift, from implementing an innovative culture of change to reshaping organizational infrastructure and the approach to delivering consumer services. Assessing readiness involves identifying areas to strengthen around the key domains of leadership, technology, service collaboration and provision, and consumer service.”

“But, to tackle these challenges and enter new ‘era’ of value-based care, provider organizations should first consider what business capabilities they will need to thrive in their new environment,” continued Carr.  “And, leadership must properly plan for the financial impact this will have on their short and long-term sustainability. That’s what this program will be about at it’s core – addressing the strategies and practices that prepare leaders for the world of value-based purchasing… from a financial perspective.”

Management Monday Coffee Break Case Studies are part of a webinar series that feature OPEN MINDS’ consultants, subject matter experts, and advisory board members who demonstrate first-hand how they have tackled some of today’s most difficult management and market challenges. These brief, 20-30 minute webinars take place every other Monday at 1:00pm ET/12:00pm CT throughout 2017 and feature various clinical and business case-studies across the health and human service industry.
