GETTYSBURG, Pa. (August 22, 2021) – On September 2 at 1:00 pm ET, OPEN MINDS will host the Private Roundtable For Elite Members, Social Determinants Of Health & The ‘Next Normal’—Partnerships, Collaborations & Leveraging Resources. This Private Roundtable will feature OPEN MINDS Senior Associate, Jason Lippman and Hackensack Meridian Health Carrier Clinic President, Donald J. Parker, who will discuss how to better position your organization to address the social determinants of health in your customer population.

“Addressing the social determinants of health that effect your customer population is only going to become more important,” said OPEN MINDS Chief Executive Officer Monica E. Oss. “As we continue to move towards value-based care, it will benefit organizations to get ahead of the curve and figure out how to address these social determinants. This is the time to think outside the box and consider resources and partnerships that may have previously been overlooked.”

The COVID-19 pandemic has shone a spotlight on all the social factors that affect an individual’s health. Essential to developing a comprehensive social determinants of health (SDOH) strategy is creating strategic partnerships and collaborations to leverage shared resources and impact. By better positioning your organization to be more influential at the program design and strategy table, more comprehensive care and services can be made available for consumers as we continue to move towards value-based care and plan for the ‘Next Normal.’

In this private round table, executive attendees will learn:

  • Overview of an SDOH strategy
  • How to develop strategic partnerships and collaborations
  • How to implement more comprehensive care that also address SDOH

Jason Lippman brings over 15 years of executive experience in the health and human services field to the OPEN MINDS team, with expertise in health care strategy, public policy and government relations, managed care, and communications. Prior to his role with OPEN MINDS, Mr. Lippman served as the Vice President of Strategy & Development for Beacon Health Options. In this role, Mr. Lippman developed strategic relationships and solutions to facilitate new growth. He also identified opportunities to integrate physical and behavioral health services to improve both quality and affordability.

Prior to joining Carrier Clinic in 2013, Parker served as the Vice President for Physician Services and Ambulatory Care at St. Joseph’s Health System. Previously, Parker was appointed as President/ CEO of Atlantic Mental Health for 15 years and subsequently merged into the AtlantiCare Health System. At AtlantiCare, he served in multiple leadership roles, including V.P. of Business Development and President of AtlantiCare Health Services, where he developed and provided leadership to over twenty ambulatory businesses with forty-two locations. Parker’s capstone accomplishment at AtlantiCare was his participation on the Leadership Team of the Health System as it earned and was awarded the Malcolm Baldrige Award, a Presidential recognition for quality and achievement. He was also the Chief Operating Officer and a Partner for a Health Care Consulting firm, Carlisle and Associates.
