Gettysburg, PA (September 25, 2022) — The 2022 OPEN MINDS Whole Person Care Summit opens The 2022 OPEN MINDS Technology & Analytics Institute in Las Vegas, NV taking place November 8 through 10. This Summit offers insight into industry developments, digital and hybrid trends in integrated models of care, as well as a look at the future of whole person care and how that affects specialty provider groups serving the complex consumer.

The 2022 OPEN MINDS Whole Person Care Summit begins Tuesday, November 8, at M Resort Spa & Casino, Las Vegas, NV, with the keynote led by William Lopez, M.D., National Medical Director, Virtual Care for Evernorth, entitled “Evernorth’s Innovative Initiatives And How Integrated Care Is Working At The Consumer Level.” Dr. Lopez will share how, by partnering with virtual providers, Cigna and Evernorth offer different integrated care solutions that better fit consumers’ primary, behavioral, and social needs. From self-help to direct/virtual patient care, these integrated health care solutions give both consumers and provider organizations access to information and insights into their health outcomes and help navigate their way through an increasingly complex market with so many options to choose from.

The Summit will continue with the four in-depth executive sessions:

Whole Person Care Models—Weighing The Pros & Cons – Victoria Pham, D.O., MBA, FAPA, DFAACAP, President of Metalyst Health and Chief Medical Officer with the Institute for Community Living, will share the different paths organizations have taken toward integrating behavioral health, primary care, and social services to advance their whole person care models. She will also outline how they evaluated the courses they took, their challenges, and what they learned along the way.

Breaking Down The Silos With Digital Health Solutions: Choose Wisely – In this session, Nancy Martin, Senior Associate of OPEN MINDS, will examine the successes and challenges organizations can face when implementing digital health solutions into whole-person care models. Attendees will learn how to balance the broadened convenience and access digital health offers with broadened access to care while minimizing the potential creation of digital silos that can accentuate care inequity.

Reflections On Digital Whole-Person Care: Health Plans Look To The Future – Jodi Fenner, Director II, Product Development for Elevance Health, and Andrea Palmer, Chief Executive Officer with Awake Labs, will highlight how health plans are impacting whole-person care and health outcomes by leveraging their networks of provider organizations and consumer members. By harnessing the wealth of data and information at their fingertips and investing significant resources, health plans are developing digital care models to facilitate whole person care and address social determinants of health.

The Roadmap To Whole Person Care: Performance Measures & Value-Based Reimbursement – The Summit wraps up with this plenary session led by Rachelle Glavin, Vice President, Clinical Operations and Tara Crawford, Director, Health Information with Missouri Behavioral Health Council, and Tom Petrizzo, Chief Executive Officer for Tri-County Mental Health Services. These leaders will discuss how, in their organizations, implementing and evaluating performance measures led to effective whole person care, the data they found critical to collect, how it was collected, and how their teams utilized data to create value-based payment structures.
