Leadership Council For Children’s Services Announces Collaborations With The New Jersey Alliance For Children, Youth & Families & The Maryland Association Of Resources For Family & Youth
GETTYSBURG, Pa. (May 10, 2015) — New Jersey Alliance for Children, Youth and Families (NJACYF) and Maryland Association of Resources for Family & Youth (MARFY) are the latest organizations to enter into collaboration agreements with the Leadership Council for Children Services (The Leadership Council). The agreements provide the members of each organization the opportunity to join The Leadership Council.
Launched in 2013, the highly-acclaimed Leadership Council executive learning community is specifically designed to help identify, develop, and implement the market strategies and management best practices that improve the financial sustainability of health and human service organizations serving children. The Leadership Council is a partnership between the Child Welfare League of America and OPEN MINDS.
“As the health and human service market continues to change, executives of all organizations, including those of children’s services organizations, face the challenge of navigating and responding to those changes. The goal of the Leadership Council is to provide these organizations with the information and tools they need to make decisions that will position their organization for success,” explains Monica Oss, OPEN MINDS’ Chief Executive Officer.
The membership of the Leadership Council includes selected executives of U.S. child-serving organizations. In addition to the opportunity to meet and share best practices six times each year, the Leadership Council Membership includes:
- Access to an exclusive online learning community and knowledge-center containing curricula designed specifically for executives of child-serving organizations
- Weekly industry market intelligence reports and strategy advice from OPEN MINDS Senior Advisors
- Quarterly web briefings and discussion groups on market trends impacting sustainability
- Complimentary registrations to the four annual OPEN MINDS executive development conferences and training events
- Complimentary registrations to the OPEN MINDS “Leadership Retreat” every year in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

- Beechbrook and St. Josephs Orphanage in Ohio
- Hillsides in California

- Kingsley House in New Orleans
- Lena Pope Home in Texas
- The Villages of Indiana
“The Leadership Council for Children’s Services was specifically developed to help executives of children’s services organizations understand the changes taking place in their market and provide them with the management best practices they need to help them succeed. What makes this project so unique is that it not only provides its members with access to the latest market and management information, but it also provides a unique networking opportunity,” says Howard Shiffman, Senior Associate of OPEN MINDS and coordinator of The Leadership Council project.
