Gettysburg, PA (April 10, 2016) — OPEN MINDS has confirmed that executives from Northwell Health and Ochsner Health System will lead a team of innovative faculty at the upcoming 2016 OPEN MINDS Strategy & Innovation Institute. The institute will be held on June 8-9, 2016 at The Sheraton (French Quarter), New Orleans, Louisiana. The 2016 OPEN MINDS Strategy & Innovation Institute is a two-day event focused on helping executives leverage emerging innovations to gain the strategic advantage and build adaptable organizations. This year’s meeting is focused on helping organizations serving complex consumers link emerging innovations to strategy – and develop a sustainable position in a disruptive market.

To lead the institute agenda, OPEN MINDS has assembled members of its expert consulting team and innovative industry thought leaders who are who will share their experiences with exciting innovations that are shaping the health & human service market.

The institute will open with a keynote presentation, “The Strategic Path To Health System Sustainability: Lessons From Northwell Health” delivered by Kristopher L. Smith, M.D., MPP, Vice President & Medical Director, Northwell Health Solutions.  In his keynote address, Dr. Smith will discuss the Northwell roadmap to sustainability – from starting their own insurance operation, to building a care management organization, to developing their own population health management tools.

Philip Oravetz, M.D., Medical Director, Accountable Care, Ochsner Health System, will deliver the keynote presentation, “Taking Risks, Finding Rewards: The Ochsner Accountable Care Organization Strategy” to open the second day of the institute. Dr. Oravetz will discuss Ochsner’s current population health management initiatives, where they are headed in the future, and how community-based provider organizations fit into that picture.
