Mental Health Care Private Equity Deals Up 9% Since 2021
During 2022, the volume of behavioral health sector investments, mergers, and acquisitions (M&A) was 9% higher than the previous year, at 177 in 2022 compared to 162 in 2021, according to investment firm Mertz Taggart. The overall increase in deal volume for the sector was due to a 96% increase in deals that involved companies focused on mental health. With in the mental health subsector, the number of deals increased from 59 in 2021 to 116 in 2022.
