Time Triage
The current "post-pandemic" period has been hard on executives and managers. Thankfully, the images of the overflowing emergency rooms, shortages of ventilators, and isolation (and deaths) of people in congregate care settings are gone. But struggles remain. For most organizations, the pandemic legacy is one of a smaller workforce (at 62.5% in December 2023—see Monthly Civilian Labor Force Participation Rate In The United States From January 2011 To December 2023), unresolved mental health and substance abuse problems among workers and consumers, and of a populace not fully returned to working, learning, and socializing in person.
