The Excellence Olympics

Greetings from lovely Long Beach and the close of the 2024;OPEN MINDS;Operational Excellence Institute.;It’s been a power-packed three days—leaving me with many thoughts about performance, the definition of value, and the pursuit of “excellence.”;

During the two weeks of Olympic competition, I've been thinking a lot about “excellence”. It came in many forms—whether the disciplined pursuit of excellence by Simone Biles, or the excellence in face of adversity by Noah Lyles, or (my personal favorite), the odd journey to world records of Sweden’s pole vaulting phenom, Mondo . . .
