Washington Medicaid Enrolls 13,000 Immigrants In Coverage Expansion
The Washington Health Care Authority (HCA) enrolled 13,000 low-income adult immigrants (aged 19 years and older) into Apple Health Medicaid Expansion, with coverage starting July 1, 2024. The Apple Health Expansion is for immigrants with income at or below 138% of the federal poverty level (FPL) who do not meet the immigration status needed to qualify for federal assistance.
Open enrollment for new applications started June 20, 2024 through Washington Health Benefit Exchange, and the Department of Social and Health Services' (DSHS') Washington Connection. Slots were opened first to the following eligible groups:
