Alaska To Integrate Behavioral Health Services To Close System Gaps
Over the next five years, the Alaska Department of Health plans to implement a package of behavioral health programs, including integrated behavioral health and medical care, to close behavioral health system gaps. By integrating health and behavioral health options, the state anticipates promoting overall health, wellness, and self-sufficiency. To close additional gaps, the state plans to develop community-based crisis services, augment residential and outpatient behavioral health services with case management, improve medication assisted treatment for addiction disorder treatment, provide detoxification services, advance home and community-based services, expand availability of affordable, supportive housing, and strengthen workforce capacity.
