Study Finds 22% Of Disaster Survivors Develop Mental Health Conditions & Symptoms May Worsen Over A Decade

After a natural or human-caused disaster, approximately 22.1% of survivors and individuals living in affected regions developed a mental health condition, such as depression or anxiety. While some symptoms show initial improvement following the event, research indicates that mental health problems can gradually worsen, often peaking more than a decade later.
