Illinois Requires Certain Residential Care Facilities To Refer Residents Only To Licensed Home Services Provider Organizations

Illinois assisted living and shared housing establishments, community living facilities, and life care facilities will face new requirements when referring residents to outside home services provider organizations under House Bill (HB) 4612. When a covered facility makes a referral to a home services provider organization with which the facility does not have a contractual arrangement, the referral must be to an organization licensed under the Illinois Home Health, Home Services, and Home Nursing Agency Licensing Act. HB 4612 takes effect January 1, 2027.
