Maryland Child Welfare System Awarded Five-Year $650 Million Federal Title IV-E Waiver
On September 30, 2014, the Maryland Department of Human Resources (DHR) announced that the federal Administration for Children and Families (ACF) had approved the state’s $650 million Title IV-E waiver demonstration project. DHR intends to explore trauma-informed, evidence-based programs for at-risk families, including Family Connections, Homebuilders, SafeCare, and Functional Family Therapy (FFT). The project includes an extensive planning process and can begin as early as July 1, 2015.
