Florida DJJ Expands Justice System Improvement Project Statewide
On June 14, 2017, the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) completed its statewide expansion of the Juvenile Justice System Improvement Project (JJSIP) to the final area, Circuit 20. DJJ launched the JJSIP in 2011 in Pinellas County. The JJSIP is a national initiative administered by Georgetown University's Center for Juvenile Justice Reform to transform the juvenile justice system by implementing best practices throughout the entire juvenile justice system. Florida was selected as one of four states to participate in the JJSIP (the other states were Arizona, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania.)
