Oregon Human Rights Organizations Request Statewide Oversight Of Juvenile Detention

On February 27, 2018, a group of human rights organizations in Oregon sent a letter to the state legislature requesting a statewide system to oversee operations of juvenile detention facilities. Currently, juvenile detention centers are unlicensed and unregulated; no state or local agency is charged with enforcing safe and humane conditions.
