Peer Navigation Program For Former Inmates With HIV More Effective Than Traditional Approaches
The Linking Inmates to Care in Los Angeles (LINK LA) peer navigation program for former inmates with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in Los Angeles has proven more effective than traditional methods to encourage these individuals to maintain treatment and control the spread of the virus following release from jail. After 12 months on the program, 50% of the peer navigation participants achieved viral suppression, compared to 36% who participated in traditional transitional case management.
