36% Of Medical Record Administrators Report EHR Interoperability Issues
Approximately 36% of medical record administrators report interoperability issues with their organization's electronic health record (EHR) platform. In 2016, 41% reported problems with interoperability. The issues included consumer information transferred in a format that was not useful for the receiver's EHR and inaccurate data.
These findings were based on a survey of 3,040 current hospital EHR users in the first quarter of 2018 conducted by Black Book Research. The survey results were compared to previous annual iterations of the survey. The goal was to determine current trends in EHR planning, purchase, use, and recommendations.
