Data Gathered By Consumer Devices & Apps Could Be Used To Identify Cognitive Conditions
Using digital applications in conjunction with consumer smart devices, such as the iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and the Beddit sleep monitoring device, may be feasible to identify individuals with mild cognitive impairment (MCI), or those who are starting to experience cognitive decline. The digital applications recorded different behaviors, such as wake up time and typing speed for individuals with MCI or mild Alzheimer's disease (AD), and a control group of cognitively healthy individuals.
