Many of the 254 counties in the state of Texas that have high rates of diagnosed diabetes do not have facilities that offer diabetes prevention programs (DPPs) that are recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as providing evidence-based education for type 2 diabetes prevention.
