Researchers Develop Measurements Of Quality Of Life For Individuals With Autism For NIH PROMIS System
Researchers at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) have developed a method for measuring lifetime quality of life (QoL) for children and adults on the autism spectrum. This autism-specific measurement tool uses questions and instruments from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO) Measurement Information System (PROMIS®). PROMIS offers several hundred free, well-constructed PRO measures for a variety of diseases and outcomes, based on individuals’ own experiences.
