Risk Of COVID-19 Hospitalization Double For People With Cognitive Disorders
The likelihood of being hospitalized for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is nearly twice as high for people with pre-existing cognitive disorders, such as dementia and Alzheimer's disease, compared to people who test negative for COVID-19. Overall, those with pre-existing cognitive disorders were 1.9 times as likely to be present among those who tested positive compared to those who tested negative.
