U.S. Insulin Prices Eight Times Higher Than In 32 Other High-Income Countries
Average insulin prices in the United States are more than eight times higher than in 32 other high-income countries participating in the international Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The average manufacturers’ price per unit across all types of insulin in the United States was $98.70, compared to an average of $8.81 across all non-U.S. OECD countries combined. Across the 32 OECD countries, the average price for insulin ranged from $2.69 in Turkey to $21.48 in Chile.
