Moderate increases were found in diabetes diagnosis rates among all consumers served by community health centers (CHCs) following implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) in both expansion and non-expansion states. In expansion states, adjusted diabetes diagnosis rates experienced a relative increase of approximately 25% from 0.6 to 0.7 per 100 consumers per year. In non-expansion states, adjusted diabetes diagnosis rates experienced a relative increase of approximately 28%, from 0.8 to 0.9 per 100 consumers per year.
