13% Of D.C. Residents Age 65 & Older Are Living With Dementia
Approximately 13% of residents (about 10,603) aged 65 years and older in the District of Columbia are living with dementia. Dementia is a general term for a range of memory loss disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease. In the District’s population age 65 and older, dementia affects 10.9% of males and 14.4% of females.
