Just 73% Of Children With Developmental Disabilities Received Preventive Care In the Past Year
Just 72.8% of children with developmental disabilities received both a preventive medical visit and a preventive dental visit in the past year. Receipt of preventive care in the past year was higher, at 78% to 82%, for children with physical health conditions, mental health conditions, or multiple conditions.
Children with medical home-consistent care had 44% higher odds of receiving preventive services. The medical home model is a team-based health care delivery model led by a health care provider to provide comprehensive and continuous medical care to patients with a goal to obtain maximal health outcomes.
